Here's a new material that is made from agricultural waste and performs in the same way as EPS or Polystyrene materials. It is fully biodegradable and once you have unpacked the box or finished with the container it will turn into an organic fertilizer for your garden.
The company that have developed it Ecovativedesign at http://www.ecovativedesign.com/ based in the states suggest many practical uses, it surely is only time before the technology gets put into the food to go packaging industry to produce even better hot and cold food insulating items that can perform as efficiently as polystyrene.
I hope this technology doesn't trip up as with starch products regards resources depleting food chain needs. For the meantime though we can carry on pointing all the Polystyrene distributors and manufacturers towards these guys!
