Cleaning help for Volcanic ash victims (or VAV's)

In anticipation of the panic calls seeking help for the removal of Volcanic ash as it descends from above.
The fine particles are like glass and therefore abrasive use only a vacuum or if not a high finish a damp cloth to adhere particles to. Be very careful on car bodies or sensitive surfaces on removing this.
I am sure Vacuum motors are safe to extract the size of dust particles that may fall and not experience seizure at present levels.
